ESSENTIAL OILS FOR SKIN
We have heard a lot about the benefits of essential oils for stress, haven’t we? Sometimes it feels as if other benefits of several of these oils get overshadowed in the light of their sweet scents and luxurious branding. That is why it is necessary to point out how essential oils are equally great for our skin as well. From treating acne troubles to softening signs of aging, they can really do wonders.
For acne -
- TEA TREE OIL - This oil is antibacterial, which ensures your skin remains microbe-free, hence maintaining health, and preventing harmful germs from attacking your skin. It also balances your skin’s sebum production, boasts impressive antiseptic properties, and helps clear the pores of acne-causing bacteria, fungi, etc.
- LAVENDER ESSENTIAL OIL - Once acne is gone, dealing with scars is more troublesome. But thanks to lavender essential oil, it is made easier. Due to its regenerative effect on the cells, scars are faded faster than usual, thus making your skin healthier and shinier. Its anti-inflammatory properties further decrease the chances of future breakouts.
- LEMONGRASS ESSENTIAL OIL - It works as a toner, which ensures your skin’s pH remains maintained, and acne breakouts do not trouble you. Those with acne-prone, oily skin can easily use lemon essential oil to reduce sebum production, thus preventing clogging of pores.
- ROSE ESSENTIAL OIL - Rich in linoleic acid, rosehip essential oil works wonders on acne-prone skin when applied regularly and properly. It even reduces scarring, prevents future breakouts, and keeps your skin healthy.
For anti-ageing -
- LEMONGRASS ESSENTIAL OIL - Apart from being a great remedy for acne and pimples, this oil also works wonderfully for aging skin. Due to the high amount of antioxidants it has, lemon essential oil saves your skin from free radical damage, which ultimately prevents wrinkles and fine lines.
- ROSE ESSENTIAL OIL - It has potent antioxidant and antibacterial properties, which are helpful in cell turnover & renewal, which help in preventing dull or saggy skin. Rose oil also has anti-inflammatory effects, which can help reduce signs of stress from the face.
- SANDALWOOD OIL - This oil has naturally occurring emollients, thus it helps in keeping your skin moisturized throughout the day, without letting any signs of fatigue linger around your face. And because they increase cell turnover, sandalwood oil also works on wrinkles.
