The sandalwood tree has long been valued for its dry, woodsy perfume, which has been used in religious ceremonies, meditation, and even ancient Egyptian embalming. Today, sandalwood essential oil is very helpful for boosting mood, encouraging smooth skin when applied topically, and supplying calming and uplifting feelings during meditation when applied aromatically. 

  • Anti-inflammatory - Sandalwood oil has been known to treat skin inflammation, caused due to psoriasis, eczema, irritation, and itching. The oil has emollient properties that soothe the skin. When applied to the skin, the oil provides almost immediate soothing relief. 
  • Good for skin - Sandalwood Oil has anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, making it ideal to combat acne and pimples. When applied regularly, this oil also helps treat acne scars, dark spots, hyperpigmentation, and uneven skin tone. 
  • Aromatherapy - if you are feeling down, and having anxiety, stress, and worrying thoughts, Sandalwood oil might help you unwind. Add a few drops in a diffuser/humidifier, and let the relaxing aroma reinvigorate you. Or you can add 1-2 drops to a hot bath after a long day at work.
  • Promotes sleep - To encourage a calming environment for a good night's sleep, diffuse the oil next to your bed as you prepare to go to sleep. To create a setting that will support deep sleep, you can also apply a few drops of sandalwood essential oil to the back of your neck before bed.
