The newest buzz in the healthcare and personal care market is essential oils. From being soothing agents to sleep inducers, aromatic to disinfectants - essential oils honestly deserve all the hype they get. But the one major advantage for which they are popular among people is their mood-elevating ability. Most essential oils have a pleasant aroma, which makes them very helpful in treating stress issues, even sleep imbalance, including other mental health problems. So shall we find out about some of such special essential oils? 


  • Lavender essential oil - Lavender’s distinct aroma makes it one of the most effective treatments for stress-related troubles. When used for aromatherapy, it can easily reduce anxiety and tension levels. Other ways to use it are by mixing it with carrier oils for body or hair massage before going to bed for a good night’s sleep.

  • Chamomile essential oil - the benefits of chamomile tea are known by all. Its relaxing effects on the body as well as the mind are praised and admired by all. While the tea has its own charm, Chamomile essential oil helps you out in a similar way as well. As the plant is known to have sedative effects, using this oil can offer better sleep, a calm state of mind, and improved overall mood. Add a few drops to a diffuser for aromatherapy or mix it with another oil for a soothing head massage. 
  • Lemon essential oil - The citrus fragrance of lemon pleases everyone. Its refreshing effect on the mind and soul makes it a great ingredient for hot beverages such as teas etc. Similarly, lemon essential oil works to calm you down as well. It works as a natural stress-reliever, and a great anxiety-inducer. When used for aromatherapy, it has been found to be a highly effective mood enhancer. 
  • Jasmine essential oil - The wonderful aroma of jasmine can lift up anyone’s senses. Carrying the same properties, jasmine essential oil can be your savior in case you are having a tough time dealing with stress or sleep troubles. Inhaling this oil has been found to be good for those who have trouble falling asleep, as well as for people with stress and anxiety.

  • Rose essential oil - As beautiful it is to look and admire a rose, its aroma is equally alluring to our senses. That is why rose essential oil works as a great stress-inducer. When used for aromatherapy, its pleasant fragrance can effectively reduce stress levels, ease anxiety, lessen worry, and provide you with a calmer state of mind to fall asleep in.

    TIPS : 

    • Essential Oils that work on treating troubles like stress and sleep troubles work best when used for aromatherapy. To do so, just add a few drops of your favorite essential oil to a diffuser and let the aroma do its magic! 
    • Another way to use these oils is by mixing them with carrier oils such as coconut, olive, almond, etc. Because essential oils are very high in concentration, it is not advisable to use them directly on your skin or hair, as that can be very damaging to the cells.
