The ancient technique of employing essential oils to enhance health and well-being is known as aromatherapy. Essentially, essential oils are unprocessed plant extracts. They are created by steaming or crushing the plant, usually its flowers, leaves, fruit, or bark, to release its fragrant components, which are then mixed with oil to create the product. These highly concentrated oils can then be massaged into the skin, applied topically using lotions or bath salts, or inhaled directly or indirectly. Aromatherapy affects the nose's smell receptors, which subsequently communicate with the brain's emotional control center.

How to Use Essential Oils for Aromatherapy? -

  • Put a diffuser in the room to disperse the essential oil into the air, or dab a tissue or piece of cotton nearby with a few drops. Use essential oil-infused laundry detergent to wash cloth napkins. Provide your loved one with a warm, essential oil-infused washcloth so they can wash their hands before eating.

  • Massage: Blend essential oil with a fragrance-free lotion. Give your loved one a hand massage before dinner. For every 4 ounces of lotion, add one drop of oil at first, and then more as needed.

  • Direct inhalation: Before meals, dab a small amount of the essential oil onto clothing near the neck or nose.
