Cold-pressed oils, along with Essential Oils, are the new buzz in the healthcare world. Thanks to their numerous health beenfits, no-chemicals composition, these oils are extremely helpful for your health, skin, body, and hair. Following are some points you must know about cold-pressed oils!

  • Cold-pressed oils do not contain chemical preservatives, but that does not mean they have to be used quickly. In fact, they can last just as long as refined oils, only proper preservation in needed. But you do need to take more precautions than refined oils. The best way to store them is in the fridge because these oils need a stable temperatures to retain taste and quality. Or you can keep them in a cool, dark place, where heat does not reach directly. Heat can make your oils go bad pretty fast.

  • ‘Virgin’ means without added chemicals and preservatives. Cold-pressed oils are 100% natural and do not involve any chemical processing, which gives them the tag of ‘Virgin’.

  • On the other hand, refined oils are extracted by using high heat (200°C) and chemical solvents. Due to chemicals and heat, most of the nutrients and flavors are lost. On the contrary, cold-pressed oils are extracted via crushing the seeds slowly to extract oil from them naturally. This is done to retain the nutrients and flavors. Therefore, apart from being way healthier than refined oils, cold-pressed oils are also derived directly from nature and are 100% natural and pure.
