Suffering from Headaches? - We Have Some Helpful Tips
Headaches can be a real problem if left untreated. That’s why you should always take your headaches seriously. If they are continuous, getting them medically checked is important. Go see a doctor, get your tests done, and be regular with your medications. Till then, the following tips might help.
- Rest - Probably the most obvious tip is to take a rest. Whenever you have a headache, the most effective step is trying to take a nap. If napping is not possible, take some rest at least. Choose a dimly-lit or dark room, as light can trigger your headache more, causing even more trouble.
- Drink more water - Staying hydrated has been found to be useful in keeping headaches at bay. To make sure you get some relief from the discomfort, drink as much water as possible. Even if you are perfectly healthy, staying hydrated is important.
- Balms - There are tons of options available in stores and online as well. Balms/ointments work great on headaches. They have methanol (or other cooling components) that help you have a better sleep/rest as well.
- Stay away from your phone - We know, it is difficult. Not only because of social media, etc. but because most of our work happens on phone. That’s why it is difficult to stay away. Still, you need to stay far away from your phone in case of headaches. Otherwise, you can unknowingly trigger your problem more.
- Cold compress - Headaches can also be treated with a good, old cold compress. You can either fill cold water in a water bag or buy a cold pack from the market to get relief from headaches. Just make sure that the ‘cold’ you apply to your forehead is not too cold, otherwise, it can worsen your headache.
- Essential Oils - Possibly one of the best remedies for headaches. Essential oils are all-rounder oils, and they are super effective in treating your headaches. You can either add them to a diffuser or mix them with water, then spray them inside the room. Or you can rub some drops on your pulse points to have some rest. Some good essential oils include -
